Sterling Coverage Solutions ("we," "us," or "our") is an independent insurance agency. Sterling Watnem is a licensed health insurance advisor, NPN 22079605. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you contact us, and what we do with it.

1. Information we collect

What you tell us

When you call, text, email, book a call, or send your quote, you may share your name, phone number, email address, and state. To find you the right coverage, we may also ask about your household, income, doctors, medications, health conditions, and current plan.

The estimate tool

The estimate tool does its math in your browser. We don't receive your answers unless you choose Send Quote to Sterling. If you tap Save My Quote, your answers are stored on your own device only, and you can clear them at any time.

Send Quote to Sterling

If you tap Send Quote to Sterling and submit the form, we receive your first and last name, email address, phone number, and when you need coverage. We also receive your answers in the estimate tool (state, ages, sex, spouse and children, household income, and whether coverage is offered at work) and the estimates it showed you.

We record the consent wording you agreed to and the date and time you sent the form. Your request is emailed to Sterling Watnem through Resend, an email delivery service, and a copy is stored in a database with Cloudflare, our website host, so a request isn't lost if an email fails.

Technical information

Our website host, Cloudflare, processes standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser, device, and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this website, such as which pages are visited, how long visits last, the type of device and browser, the general location (city or region), and the website that referred you. Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visits apart. It doesn't receive your answers in the estimate tool or anything you type into the Send Quote to Sterling form. When a quote is sent, it records only that one was sent, and we don't send it your name, contact details, or health information. We use these reports only in summary form to improve the site, not to identify you.

Scheduling

If you book a call through the scheduler, you give your name, email address, and any notes you add to Calendly, which passes them to us. Calendly's own privacy notice applies to what you enter there.

2. How we use information

We use the information you give us to:

  • Answer your questions and schedule calls.
  • Follow up on a quote you send through the website.
  • Compare plans and recommend options that fit your needs and budget.
  • Help you apply when you decide to enroll, and support you with your policy afterward.
  • Keep records, as the law and insurance regulations require.
  • Keep this website working and secure, and understand how it's used so we can improve it.

3. Calls, texts, and email

If you call, text, or email us, we use your phone number or email address to reply. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we will.

The Send Quote to Sterling form asks you to check a box agreeing that Sterling Watnem and his assistant may contact you by phone, text, or email about your health insurance inquiry. The box starts unchecked, and consent isn't required to buy coverage.

Message and data rates may apply to text messages. We don't share your mobile number, or your consent to text, with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.

Please don't send Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, or medical details by email or text. We'll gather what's needed on a call.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:

  • Insurance companies. When you decide to apply, we share the details needed for your application and enrollment with the company you choose.
  • Service providers. Companies that help us run the business, such as website hosting and storage (Cloudflare), website analytics (Google Analytics), scheduling, email delivery (Resend), email, and phone services. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
  • Legal and safety reasons. When the law requires it, when a regulator such as a state insurance department asks for it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
  • Business changes. If the business is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

5. Cookies and outside tools

We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure visits to this website. We have turned off Google's advertising features for it, so the data isn't used to show you ads. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this website.

The scheduler is provided by Calendly. It loads when you scroll to a booking section, and Calendly may set its own cookies or use similar technologies when it does. If you would rather avoid this, call or text us instead.

A quote saved with Save My Quote is kept in your browser's local storage on your device. It isn't a cookie, and it is never sent to us. Send Quote to Sterling is separate: it sends your details only when you submit its form.

Some pages link to other sites, such as insurance companies, government agencies, and license lookup tools. Those sites have their own privacy practices.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Ask us to stop calling, texting, or emailing you at any time.
  • Clear a saved estimate on the Get a Quote page, or by clearing your browser's site data.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.

To make a request, use the contact details below. We may need to confirm who you are first. Some information we must keep by law or under insurance regulations, so we may not be able to delete all of it.

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you additional rights. Information we collect in connection with an insurance transaction is also covered by federal and state insurance privacy laws, which limit how we can share it.

7. Keeping information safe

This website uses an encrypted connection, and we limit who can see the information you share with us. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security.

8. How long we keep information

We keep information, including requests sent through Send Quote to Sterling, for as long as we need it to help you and to meet record-keeping requirements. After that, we delete it or remove what identifies you.

9. Children's privacy

This website is for adults and isn't directed to children under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has shared information with us, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will say so on this website.
